A new day

Breath is coming a little easier on the farm these days. With just two markets left this season, we can divide all the plantings in half–one for now, one for later. Next year’s compost is resting in windrows, and our food safety pre-audit with the PA Dept. of Ag went really smoothly. The garlic is neatly tucked in its beds, covered with mulch. The strawberries are planted, the cover crops are seeded, and the fields are (mostly) clean of debris. And, of course, the White House is due for a new occupant. It feels like a new day.
