The middle of July is always a big transition point on our farm. The tomatoes are just starting to come in, but we are busy moving our fall greens out of the greenhouse to transplant in the field. In the photo above you can see that our onion and shallot crop has taken over the space freed up in the greenhouse. Like the split in the photo, our attention is divided between the crops that need harvesting now and all the fall plants that we are racing to get in the ground before the afternoon thunderstorms.
