The farm isn’t looking very photogenic on this gray, rainy day, so I didn’t bother taking any pictures in the fields. Instead, I decided to include this picture of Landon and Frankie on one of our morning walks to open the high tunnel.
During the growing season, it can be hard to find time for all three of us to relax together. These twice daily walks to open and close the tunnels build that family time into our work routine and they’ve quickly become my two favorite times of day. Especially when Frankie insists on walking out there herself, and we get to witness all the tiny details that grab her attention, like a well-worn rut in the road, a cool rock, or a particularly tall weed. We get to see the farm through her eyes and regain that sense of wonder that can sometimes get lost in the day-to-day responsibilities of running the farm.
